The Ionian Academy was the first intellectual center of Greece and the founder, Guilford, who loved Corfu. On the left side, you will see the Palace of Saint Michael and Saint George, house of the British Commissioners and the monument of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first Governor of Greece.
